Round fixtures hold a single bulb and are ideal for illuminating small areas. Linear fixtures have long bodies that spread light over a wide area for more coverage than round fixtures. Troffers conceal their wiring and most of their housing within drop ceilings, which make them ideal for retrofitting to energy-efficient LED technology to reduce operating costs.

Long linear fixtures are used to illuminate large areas over long distances. They are surface-mounted to walls or ceilings and commonly used in damp or humid locations, such as loading docks and basements. Their housing fits tightly together with a gasket to prevent dust and moisture from entering the fixture and damaging internal parts. These LED lights use significantly less energy than fluorescent lights and have built-in LED arrays so there are no light bulbs to install or replace.
